LEBANON, Tenn. (April 23, 2011) – The JR Motorsports teams of Josh Wise and Aric Almirola both scored top-10 finishes Saturday in the Nashville 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Nashville Superspeedway, capping a good day for the JRM contingent.  Wise led a season-high five laps in the No. 7 NASCAR The Game 2011 Chevrolet and crossed the finish line ninth.  It marked his best effort of the 2011 season and his second-best finish in the No. 7 car.  Almirola and the No. 88 GT Vodka crew clawed into the top 10 midway through the race and held a position among the top-12 for the duration.  Almirola finished 10th, one spot behind his teammate.  Carl Edwards won the race, earning his fourth victory at Nashville Superspeedway.  He was followed to the line by Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (more…)

Promising Day Ends Short of Victory for JRM

TALLADEGA, Ala. (April 16, 2011) – Saturday’s Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway was filled with excitement for the JR Motorsports teams of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Aric Almirola.  In a race that showcased a record-setting 56 lead changes, two-car drafting packs were again the key factor in victory.  For Earnhardt Jr. and Almirola, lining up nose to tail not only made sense, it worked to near perfection.  Earnhardt Jr. in the No. 7 Suave Men Chevrolet led five times for 16 laps and was a clear contender all day.  His charge to the front was soured by several late cautions, which broke him apart from his day-long drafting teammate for the final restart.  He went on to finish eighth.  Driving the No. 88 GT Vodka Chevrolet, Almirola led two laps and positioned himself for a strong run to the end, but he failed to find a solid drafting partner when the final restart left him in a line opposite Earnhardt Jr.  Almirola finished 10th.   Kyle Busch won his fourth race of 2011.  Joey Logano, Joe Nemechek, Brad Keselowski and Elliott Sadler rounded out the top-five finishers.
